A/S includes a basic document browsing feature that can be accessed by choosing the Browse TEXT File… menu item. This feature displays up to 25K in a TEXT document, optionally displaying CRs, LFs, Tabs, and Spaces as visible characters (as defined in the application preferences). Only one document may be opened at a time.
Hold down the option key when choosing the menu item to open any kind of file.
Hold down the shift key when opening a document, to override the current preferences settings and not display CRs, LFs, Tabs, and Spaces as visible characters. Hold down the option key to cause them to all be displayed as visible characters.
If the document has more text than is displayed in the browse window, the status line text at the bottom on the window is italicized.
The Browse window size and location are remembered.
